Remember that scene from “Say Anything” where the guy held the boombox playing Peter Gabriel over his head for that girl to hear? To win her heart? I did that, too, but it wasn’t a boombox. It was my voice screaming everything he did to me that awful night. And it wasn’t to win his heart. I did it so his wife and kids and neighbors would all know.
